Quantum Graphical Calculi and their Algebraic Underpinnings

Abstract

Quantum Graphical Calculi, such as ZX, expand on quantum circuits by using the compact closed nature of the ambient category. In this talk we will give an overview of ZX and some related calculi (ZW, RING, ZQ) before then showing how to apply algebraic ideas, such as homomorphisms, interpolation, and Galois Theory, at the level of diagrams.
